Adventure Group is for kids who are looking to explore off the beaten path. This three class, 90 minute per class mini-session continues the NCYD progressive system for development by providing those who have established a competence and confidence to endure the rigors of challenging terrane, extended distances, and intervals of accelerated pace an option to test their limits. Adventure group will cover a broader radius, experience higher levels of technical skill application, and grow tight with their peers through rad experiences. These mini-sessions are perfect for busy families that may not be able to commit to a longer session. They also provide an efficient, effective, and enjoyable way to assess the ability and interests of kids for future NCYD programatic opportunity without the pressure and inaccuracies that often come through reliance on other conventional placement assessments.
Adventure groups are comprised of 6 - 10 participants instructed by 3 - 4 certified and experienced instructors. Classes are all-inclusive, but Adventure Group does require a significant level of intrinsic motivation. Activities typically venture out 5-8 miles depending upon the ability and interest of the participants. Adventure groups are designed for kids who get bored with the constraints of conventional programming and are looking to explore new expressions of their talent and craft.
